Nissan Leaf 2018-2025 (ZE1) Owner's Manual : Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection

WARNING

Failure to strictly adhere to the safety warnings and operational guidelines for the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection system could result in a collision, leading to serious injury or death.

  • The AEB with Pedestrian Detection system is designed as a supplemental driver-assistance aid; it is not a replacement for your constant attention to traffic conditions or your fundamental responsibility to drive your Nissan Leaf safely.

The system cannot override the risks associated with driver carelessness or dangerous driving techniques, nor can it compensate for all levels of distraction.

  • The AEB with Pedestrian Detection system is subject to operational limits and will not function effectively in every possible driving, traffic, weather, or road condition.

The AEB with Pedestrian Detection system is engineered to provide an essential safety layer by assisting the driver when there is an identified risk of a forward collision with a vehicle ahead or a pedestrian directly in your travel lane.

This advanced safety system utilizes a precision radar sensor, integrated into the front of the Nissan Leaf (B), to continuously measure the distance to vehicles sharing your lane. To further enhance safety and specifically detect pedestrians, the system employs a high-resolution camera mounted behind the windshield (A), which works in tandem with the front radar sensor to monitor and identify potential hazards in real time.
