This indicator is a proactive notice that the battery inside your Intelligent Key is losing its charge. To ensure continued convenience and seamless entry, you should replace the internal battery with a new one promptly.

Key System Error warning icon Key System Error: See Owner's Manual

If this warning appears for a brief period after setting the power switch to the ON position, it indicates a technical malfunction within the Intelligent Key system of your Nissan Leaf. If this alert is present while the motor is stopped, it may prevent the motor from starting. If it appears while driving, you can continue to operate the vehicle, but you should seek professional assistance as soon as possible; we recommend scheduling an inspection at a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer.

No Key Detected warning icon No Key Detected

This warning is triggered under the following scenarios:

No key inside the vehicle: This alert activates if you close a door while the Intelligent Key is positioned outside the vehicle and the power switch is in the ACC or ON setting. Always verify that your Intelligent Key is inside the Nissan Leaf before departing.

Unregistered Intelligent Key: This warning appears if you attempt to place the power switch in the ON, ACC, or "READY to drive" position but the system cannot verify the key. This warning indicates a malfunction in the e-Pedal system. You must rely on the traditional brake pedal to decelerate or stop the vehicle. Please have the system checked immediately by a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer.

Maintenance indicator icon representing tools Indicators for maintenance

These indicators appear when your Nissan Leaf reaches the distance interval you have set for specific maintenance tasks, such as tire rotations or other service items. You can easily manage and reset these distance settings through the vehicle information menu.

WARNING

The tire replacement indicator is not a replacement for your personal responsibility to perform regular tire inspections, including verifying air pressure. Many variables—such as tire inflation, vehicle alignment, individual driving habits, and prevailing road conditions—significantly impact the rate of tire wear. Consequently, setting the tire replacement indicator for a specific mileage does not guarantee that your tires will remain in safe condition for that entire duration. Always treat this indicator as a general guide and prioritize consistent, manual tire maintenance and checks.

Failure to perform regular tire maintenance, including consistent tire pressure checks, can significantly increase the risk of tire failure. Neglecting these safety inspections may lead to severe vehicle damage and increase the potential for a collision, which carries the risk of serious personal injury or fatal consequences.

Headlight System Error: See Owner's Manual

This warning message appears when the Nissan Leaf onboard computer detects that the LED headlight assembly is not functioning according to factory specifications.

If this error persists, have your lighting system inspected by a qualified professional to ensure your visibility is not compromised. It is highly recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer for this specialized service and repair.

Low battery charge indicator icon Low battery charge indicator

This indicator illuminates when the available Li-ion battery charge in your Nissan Leaf is approaching a critical level. We strongly advise finding a charging station to replenish the battery as soon as possible, ideally before the energy gauge drops to the 0% threshold.

The low battery charge warning light will turn off immediately before the Li-ion battery is completely exhausted and the vehicle ceases operation. Should the battery reach a state of full discharge, the Nissan Leaf will be immobile and must be connected to a charging source before it can be driven again.

Low outside temperature icon Low outside air temperature

Your Nissan Leaf monitors and displays the current outside air temperature in either ºF or ºC, with a functional range spanning from −20ºF to 140ºF (−30ºC to 60ºC).

This display mode incorporates a specialized low-temperature warning feature designed to alert the driver to potentially hazardous road conditions.

If the ambient outside temperature drops below 37ºF (3ºC), a warning will appear on the display to prompt extra caution behind the wheel.

The external temperature sensor is situated at the front of the Nissan Leaf. Please note that the readings can be influenced by road heat, wind direction, and varying driving environments. Consequently, the displayed temperature may differ slightly from the actual ambient air or from temperatures shown on public signs or electronic billboards.
