- Fog light (if so equipped)
It is not uncommon for light fogging to form temporarily inside the lenses of the exterior lights during heavy rain or after using a high-pressure car wash. This is primarily caused by a temperature differential between the warm air inside the lens housing and the cooler ambient air outside, and it is considered a normal characteristic rather than a malfunction. However, if you observe large drops of water or significant moisture pooling inside the lens, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer for a professional inspection.
Headlights
The headlight system is a critical component for safe operation of your Nissan Leaf. If you encounter any issues with headlight function, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer for expert service.
Replacing the LED headlight bulb (if so equipped)
If your Nissan Leaf is equipped with LED headlights and a bulb replacement becomes necessary, the system requires specialized service. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer to ensure the integrity of the headlight assembly.
Replacing the halogen headlight bulb (if so equipped)
Some models feature a semi-sealed beam type headlight utilizing a halogen bulb. Should you need to replace this bulb, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer to ensure proper installation and electrical safety.
CAUTION
- Do not leave the bulb housing open or the bulb out of the headlight reflector for an extended period. The entry of dust, moisture, or other atmospheric contaminants into the headlight body can severely degrade internal reflective coatings and bulb performance.
- The halogen bulb contains high-pressure gas. The glass envelope may shatter if scratched, dropped, or subjected to sudden impact; handle with extreme care.
- Only touch the metal base when handling or installing a halogen bulb. Never make contact with the glass envelope.
Oils from your skin left on the glass envelope can create hotspots that significantly shorten the bulb's lifespan and adversely affect the lighting performance of your Nissan Leaf.
- Factory headlight aiming is typically sufficient and does not require adjustment after simple bulb replacement. If you believe your headlights require aiming, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer for professional calibration.
- As noted, minor condensation may temporarily form inside exterior light lenses due to temperature fluctuations, such as in rain or car washes. If substantial water accumulation occurs, please have the unit checked by a NISSAN certified LEAF dealer.
Always ensure that the replacement bulb matches the exact wattage and technical specifications of the original part installed in your Nissan Leaf as outlined in the manufacturer's reference chart.
