Nissan Leaf 2018-2025 (ZE1) Owner's Manual : Seatback Pocket
The convenient seatback pockets may be located on the rear of the driver's and/or front passenger's seat. These fabric pockets can be used to store maps, magazines, lightweight travel documents, or small electronics safely within reach of rear-seat occupants.
WARNING
To ensure the completely proper operation of the driver's and/or front passenger's NISSAN Advanced Air Bag System (if so equipped), please strictly observe the following safety items:
- Do not allow a passenger sitting in the rear seat to push, pull, or kick forcefully on the seatback pocket or the head restraint/headrest assembly.
- Do not place heavy loads heavier than 9.1 lbs. (4 kg) hanging on the seatback, draped over the head restraint/headrest, or stuffed into the seatback pocket, as this can affect the weight sensors of the advanced airbag system.

WARNING
Do not place sharp objects, loose pens, or heavy items in the dashboard tray(s) to help prevent dangerous projectiles and personal injury in the event of an accident or a sudden emergency stop.
Glove box
To open the spacious glove box compartment, simply pull the release handle forward.
To close the compartment after use, firmly push the lid back in until it latches securely into the dashboard frame.
WARNING
Always keep the glove box lid closed while driving your Nissan Leaf to prevent the contents from spilling out and causing injury in case of an accident or a sudden, unexpected stop.
Console box
To open the central console box, pull up on the front latch lever and lift the padded lid upward. To close, push the lid back down firmly until the latch is fully engaged and clicks.
Overhead sunglasses storage
To open the integrated overhead sunglasses holder, gently push up on the door and release it to let it swing down. This compartment is specifically designed to store only one pair of sunglasses safely.
WARNING
Keep the sunglasses holder closed completely while driving to avoid obstructing the driver's rearview mirror visibility and to help prevent objects from falling out and causing an accident.
CAUTION
- Do not use this specialized compartment for storing anything other than standard sunglasses or reading glasses.
- Do not leave expensive eyewear inside the sunglasses holder while parking your Nissan Leaf in direct sunlight for long periods. The intense greenhouse heat buildup near the windshield may warp or damage the sunglasses frame and lenses.
