Nissan Leaf 2018-2025 (ZE1) Owner's Manual : Charging related remote function (models with Navigation System)
To keep you effortlessly connected to your vehicle, the Nissan Leaf is equipped with a sophisticated Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). This built-in device maintains a constant connection between your car and the NISSAN Data Center, empowering you with a suite of advanced remote services designed for modern, convenient ownership.
- Remote battery status check: You can stay informed about your vehicle's energy levels from anywhere. Using the "NissanConnect EV & Services" app, the general "NissanConnect" platform, or the secure Owners Portal, you can monitor the charge status of your Li-ion battery without ever needing to step inside the car.
- Remote start charge: Gain total control over your charging schedule. Whether you are at your desk or relaxing at home, you can use your computer or an internet-enabled smartphone to initiate a battery charging session or activate the climate control system to pre-condition your Nissan Leaf interior for your arrival.
- Plug-in reminder: Never worry about forgetting to charge again. You can set specific times for the system to verify your connection status. If your Nissan Leaf is not plugged in by your selected time after you have powered down, the system will automatically send a notification e-mail to your registered account or smartphone.
NOTE:
- To utilize these remote services, you must first register and establish your account via the NissanConnect EV & Services or NissanConnect portal. For detailed setup instructions, please consult your NissanConnect Manual.
- For remote monitoring and control via your smartphone or computer, please ensure the following requirements are met:
- Your Nissan Leaf must be parked within an area that has reliable cellular network coverage.
- Your mobile device must also be located in a region with adequate cellular or internet connectivity.
- If accessing via a computer, a stable internet connection is required.
- Please be aware that some mobile devices may not be fully compatible with the remote status check features; we recommend confirming your device's compatibility in advance.
- Some remote features require a compatible smartphone, which is a third-party accessory not supplied with the vehicle.
- Access to the NissanConnect suite is provided through a subscription-based service. Activation requires your explicit consent, and the subscription must remain active to maintain access to these remote functionalities.
- Communication alerts from NissanConnect can be sent to your verified e-mail address or, if enabled, via SMS/text messaging to your mobile phone.
- Please note that standard text messaging rates and data usage fees may be applied by your mobile service provider based on your current data plan.
