Nissan Leaf 2018-2025 (ZE1) Owner's Manual : Windshield-washer fluid
Maintain clear visibility by checking and filling the windshield-washer fluid reservoir periodically. You should replenish the reservoir promptly when the "Low Washer Fluid" notification appears on the Nissan Leaf vehicle information display.
For more details on interpreting these alerts, please see "Vehicle information display warnings and indicators".
To fill the reservoir, lift cap (1) and pour the windshield-washer fluid directly into the reservoir opening until full.
For superior cleaning performance, add a high-quality windshield-washer solvent to the reservoir. During the winter season, it is essential to use a windshield-washer fluid with antifreeze properties to prevent the solution from freezing in the lines or on the glass.
Always follow the product manufacturer's specific instructions regarding the proper mixture ratio for your climate.
You may need to refill the reservoir more frequently during periods of inclement weather, long-distance highway driving, or road conditions that require an increased use of the washer system.
Recommended fluid: Genuine NISSAN Windshield-Washer Concentrate Cleaner & Antifreeze or a high-quality equivalent.
CAUTION
- Never substitute engine antifreeze coolant for windshield-washer solution, as it will cause severe and permanent damage to your Nissan Leaf paint finish.
- Do not pour concentrated windshield-washer fluid directly into the reservoir. Some methyl alcohol-based concentrates are highly aggressive; if spilled while filling, they may cause permanent staining or discoloration of the vehicle grille or surrounding trim.
- Always pre-mix concentrated washer fluid with water according to the manufacturer's recommended ratios in a separate container before adding it to the vehicle. Never use the windshield-washer reservoir itself as a mixing vessel.
